Our kitchen team is very proud for sourcing as many ingredients from inside town limits as possible. Why? This way we know exactly where the produce comes from, have a guarantee for absolute freshness, and on top of it support our neigbours. As an example: The fish on your plate has been landed in Suðureyri harbour, and herbs used are grown in our own back yard. We love cooking wholehearted, which you can easily experience in the variety of our exciting meals.

STARTERS

Our goal in starters is to do something fun and interesting

The confused trout
Smoked Rainbow trout, rye bread crumbs, cream cheese and lime sauce

Cod, hiding in dulse
Cod and dulse on toast with trout spawns

Scorched shrimp with cauliflower risotto, roasted sunflower seeds and lime oil


MAIN COURSES

Our goal with the main courses is to help you experience the food culture of a small fishing village

Fish in wolf’s clothing
Flambéed Atlantic wolffish with cognac cream sauce, potatoes with smoked paprika and salad

Our village’s main export
Braised cod loin with aioli garlic topping, mashed potatoes and salad

A pleasant surprise
Pan fried starry ray with onion, dill and fennel mash and salad

The time machine
Boiled hanged cod with greaves, potatoes and rye bread with butter

Lamb, on a stick, from the fire
Birch grilled lamb meat spears with salad and a mix of pan fried root vegetables

DESERTS

Our Goal in desserts is that they should be sweet, small and cheap
